Question: Name a book you hated

Aw ‘hated’ is such a strong word! Let me say ‘a book you disliked’.

One book I really didn’t like was one we had to read in English class, called The Life and Times of Michael K, by J. M. Coetzee. I just didn’t like the storyline, the characters, the events... bleeeeh!

For something more well-known, I didn’t like Twilight, by Stephanie Meyer . *hides*

But eh, that’s just my opinion =p

What about you? Let me know and I'll see you again soon for another FFF! :D

    1. Yeah, I think the people who read the books are really split - I’ve rarely encountered such extreme opinions on one book series! o_o I gave it my best shot though :)
      Thanks for the follow! :D

  3. Twilight is cringe-worthy but I feel as if you have to read it. It's one of those books that you dislike, but continue to read it anyway lol

  5. I LOVE the entire Twilight Saga. I have already read all four books four times each, and there will be more re-readings. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion of a book named by TIME Magazine as "Best Young Adult Book of All Time". I guess that, even though this book, as well as its sequels, is loved by millions, there are those that dislike it. That's the way it is with all books!

A book I absolutely HATE is "The Catcher In the Rye", by J.D. Salinger, but many people do love it.

    1. I’m glad you like it! :D I have some series like that that quite a few people dislike but I’ll just keep coming back to them. Like Wings, by Aprilynne Pike, or a lot of less well known series :) I think that it’s cool that booklovers just accept each other with all their bookish opinions!

Hmm I”ve never tried that one yet!

    2. We were required to read this in high school. Why, I don't know.....the main character, Holden Caulfield, is TOTALLY obnoxious. He's cynical, loves to use bad words, and even tries getting with a prostitute. And he's only 16..... This is what I remember of the book. UGH.

    3. Wow sounds pretty annoying to read, actually!
The one I didn’t like by J.M. Coetzee was also a high-school read. Even though I read it just 2 years ago, all I got from it was that it was a guy wheel-barrowing his mom back to her native village, because she had a leg disease. Then she dies, and he goes around a bunch of places until he gets to the village and grows pumpkins...

And here I am hoping my English teacher’s not reading this XD

  6. I've not read the Coetzee one, but have Twilight. I liked it well enough but I'm not a huge fan. I'm certainly not interested in reading this gender swap version she's released! ;-) New bloglovin' follower.

    1. Yeah when I saw there was a new version, I was like ‘meh’. I don’t know, I just got bored with them, I didn’t dislike them for a specific reason :’)
      Thanks for the follow! :)
