Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare

Clockwork Prince, by Cassandra Clare

Hey all!
It’s Christmas break! And I’m on vacation! And I have time to read again! And things are great! :D

So as you may have guessed by the the title, I managed to finish Clockwork Prince yesterday in the car!

And may I say, it was amazing! But it’s going to be VERY tricky to review this without spoilers. So... sorry in advance if I accidentally and unintentionally spoil anything for you!

Goodreads Blurb -
"In the magical underworld of Victorian London, Tessa Gray has at last found safety with the Shadowhunters. But that safety proves fleeting when rogue forces in the Clave plot to see her protector, Charlotte, replaced as head of the Institute. If Charlotte loses her position, Tessa will be out on the street—and easy prey for the mysterious Magister, who wants to use Tessa’s powers for his own dark ends.

With the help of the handsome, self-destructive Will and the fiercely devoted Jem, Tessa discovers that the Magister’s war on the Shadowhunters is deeply personal. He blames them for a long-ago tragedy that shattered his life. To unravel the secrets of the past, the trio journeys from mist-shrouded Yorkshire to a manor house that holds untold horrors, from the slums of London to an enchanted ballroom where Tessa discovers that the truth of her parentage is more sinister than she had imagined. When they encounter a clockwork demon bearing a warning for Will, they realize that the Magister himself knows their every move—and that one of their own has betrayed them.

Tessa finds her heart drawn more and more to Jem, but her longing for Will, despite his dark moods, continues to unsettle her. But something is changing in Will—the wall he has built around himself is crumbling. Could finding the Magister free Will from his secrets and give Tessa the answers about who she is and what she was born to do?

As their dangerous search for the Magister and the truth leads the friends into peril, Tessa learns that when love and lies are mixed, they can corrupt even the purest heart.

NOW THIS WAS JUST A WHOLE PACK OF FEELS WRAPPED UP IN A NICE BOW!

(Uuh how to do this without spoilers...?)

This book follows on so so well after Clockwork Angel! It basically starts off where it ends, and didn’t leave out anything important.

It’s full of deceit and heartbreak and mystery and confusion and action and Shadowhunter amazingness.

Am I the only one who read the original Mortal Instruments series, and every time Magnus come up in this series I pause reading and think “MAGNUS YAY!”. Cus I caught myself doing that XD

Jem! And Will! Just... these guys are fantastic. I am kinda annoyed that the love triangle is so incredibly confusing for Tessa, but both guys are so precious!  :3

SPOILERS!!!
- SAHSSALSDKFJA JEM’S PROPOSAL THO!
- I feel so bad for Will... ;_; his ‘curse’ is so messed up and cruel and you find how how incredibly caring he actually is! <3
- NATE YOU TRAITOR! (And Jessamine! She’s actually REALLY annoying -.-)
- Charlotte is the owner of the institute yay! :D
- Sophie is so awesome for a Mundane!
- Jem don’t die don’t die don’t die! (he doesn’t as far as i know, no worries)
- I can’t wait for the clockwork finale oh my gosh the giant was already such a fantastic idea now I’m like WOAH WAIT I NEED TO KNOW!!!
- Will and Tessa will obvs end up together... she’s trying too much to forget him.
- both guys are bae

So that’s it for this! I’m sorry its sort, but the thing with second-book-syndrome is that it’s really REALLY hard to review second books in trilogies!

I’m giving this a 4.5/5 feathers!

Did you read Clockwork Prince? What did you think? Let me know! :D

    1. Hmm I’m not sure! I have to read the last book first and get rid of the angsty feeling of ‘the cliffhanger’ ^-^

    1. YESSS! OH my gosh I can’t either, but I tend to lean more towards Jem for now. I was an idiot though and brought Clockwork Prince with me in the car, but not Princess! So I can’t read it until I get home which is in over a week!
